And addionally, on the Mac you must upload them as plain binary or raw data,
and NOT as MacBinary.

95% of the time when you're talking about Macintosh GIF files that don't
work on the Web, they're being uploaded in MacBinary format. I know, I've
talked to hordes of people with this very same problem.
