slowdown at the vrmLab

if you have seemed to be getting slow responses from the vrmLab, it has not
been your imagination. the site has been *way* more popular that I would
have imagined.

I have won a minor budget-battle, and will be upgrading our line to a
"virtual T1" frame relay connection in late December 95. after that point,
connections to dear little infopark.newcollege.edu (aka www.newcollege.edu)
will speed up quite a bit. I will then esactivate the Packages subdirectory
structure.

thanks for the patience... New College is a small place with limited
resources, and the Internet is just beginning to "sink in" as one part of
the future of education (sigh)
