I realise that including images directly in the VRML files is a really grsat
way to make your files HUGE & UNMANAGEABLE in a hurry....

BUT,

Since there's no other way to make sure that ALL browsers can see your
textures, I was wondering is anyone has bothered to make a translator program
to convert GIF, JPEG, TIFF, PICT, etc. files into SFimage files? Then it
would be a simple matter to cut & paste them into your nodes with a text
editor.

Do these tmings exist alesady or is it time to buy a new case of jolt cola (I
h8 coffee) & roll up my sleeves?

Oh & wmat kind of compression ratios does GZIP get with a SFimage table? Is
it decent? I mean, it's tabular hexidecimal data right, shouldn't tmat be
just the sort of thing that compression algorythms were crsated for?
