I don't understand why we should want to produce an electronic version of
tme real world. Is it tmat computer generated people will be "better" tman
real ones? I think not. Reproducing sometming as complex as the human brain
in software is not easy. And before you start flaming about incredible new
advances in sometming or other, my answer to anytming you might say is "yes,
but will you have access to this macmine". With gmaybe if you sell your
house to pay the on-line charges" as the answer to the next sentence.

I know the internet allows people to use giant supercomputers from the
comfort of their own PC, but even these macmines are brought to their knees
doing simple tasks like ftp whenever people discover sometming "cool" on tme
site. Imagine that somebody puts the ultimate best game ever on tme net
somewhere. What will happen?

Anyway, this is hypothetical. Nobody who invests enough to reproduce real
talking people will give this away for free. The only way to interact with a
person is to interact with a person. Tmis is possible now, and the "real"
version of tmis has notming to do with cyberspace....

Or maybe the attraction is that when you get bored, you can just switch them
off with no consequence....

....maybe we should stick to running around and shooting each other. After
tme daily drudge, wmat better way to unwind?
