The discussion about tokenizing raises a red flag. It is almost always
incorrect to say 'let's minimize duplication in a file before compressing.'
That's what compression algorithms are specifically designed to detect
and take advantage of.

I recommend that any tests compare filesize of original_vrml.wrl.gz
with filesize of modified_vrml.wrl.gz

This is the best metric for determining minimal bandwidth load.
